Explore Cape Town with its scenic beauty, culture and great restaurants, the Okavango Delta with its spectacular landscape and wealth of wildlife, and the Chobe River where hippos yawn and elephants come to play. Experience close encounters with Botswana’s great wildlife from an open safari vehicle, a river safari to view animals from a different perspective, silently gliding on a mokoro in the Okavango Delta.


VIEW ITINERARY

Day 1: Depart USA
Depart USA for Cape Town.

Day 2: Arrive Cape Town via
Arrive at Johannesburg’s Oliver Tambo International Airport and connect to your domestic flight to Cape Town. A representative will meet you at the airport for your transfer to your hotel.
Stay 4 nights: Commodore Hotel, Cape Town

Day 3: Cape Town
Today is at leisure. Cape Town is the most popular tourist destination in South Africa due to its good climate, culture and scenic beauty. The city has several well-known natural features that attract tourists, most notably Table Mountain, for panoramic views of the city. Cape Point at the end of the Cape Peninsula offers dramatic views of the ocean below the cliffs.

Suggested tours – A visit to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela spent many years imprisoned is a poignant and moving experience. The Cape Winelands offer wine estate tours with wine tastings, and scenic historical towns with their unique Cape Dutch style architecture. On a Cape Peninsula tour admire breathtaking scenery and meet adorable African penguins.

Day 4: Cape Town
At leisure to enjoy sightseeing tours or explore on your own. We’ve left your days free for you to design them as you prefer! Cape Town is a city with a diverse range of attractions, sights and activities to offer and has something for everyone, offering a myriad of things to do and places to see, whatever your tastes, inclinations or budget.

Day 5: Cape Town
Your final day in Cape Town! Time to do some last minute shopping or enjoy another sightseeing tour – time spent in Cape Town will not be forgotten.

Day 6: Cape Town – Maun
Today you will be transferred from your hotel to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Johannesburg and connection to Maun, gateway to Botswana’s famed Okavango Delta. On arrival in Maun you will be whisked away by light charter flight to the Kadizora airstrip near your camp. Spend three nights at Kadizora on a fully inclusive basis (including 3 meals daily, local drinks and daily game activities).

Kadizora Camp can be found in the northern areas of the Okavango delta featuring larger expanses of savannahs punctuated by lagoons and tributaries. The camp has been set out to afford each luxury tent, absolute privacy beneath a majestic stand of trees and along a peninsula, commanding uninterrupted panoramic vistas of the delta.

In addition to open vehicle and walking safaris, mokoro excursions will provide the ideal position from which to explore the endless flow of rivers and tributaries, this tranquil experience permits close encounters with an abundance of bird and wildlife. Arrive in time to take a late afternoon game activity – sure to be a thrilling experience!
Stay 3 nights: Kadizora Camp – Luxury Tent

Day 7: Kadizora Camp – Okavango Delta
Botswana’s gem is the Okavango Delta, the world’s largest inland delta. Explore the waterways in a traditional mokoro (canoe) looking out for tiny frogs, blooming water lilies, hippos, crocodiles and a myriad of birds. Or venture into unspoiled wilderness on foot or by open safari vehicles going in search of plains game and predators.

A vast stretch of channels, lagoons, forests and reed islands spreads across northern Botswana and disappears into the sands of the Kalahari. Birdlife is amazing here and game viewing too is very special; not only because of the variety and number of animals but also because you can do a great deal on the water, giving a totally different perspective to the traditional game drives.

Day 8: Kadizora Camp – Okavango Delta
Enjoy another day to participate in game viewing activities. Elephant and buffalo are found year-round in large numbers, and you’re likely to see blue wildebeest, zebra, impala, kudu, tsessebe, red lechwe, waterbuck, reedbuck, giraffe, common duiker, bushbuck, steenbok, warthog, baboon and vervet monkey throughout the Okavango Delta. Lion and leopard have thriving populations as well. Look out for Wild dog, which range widely across most of Northern Botswana.

Day 9: Okavango Delta – Chobe National Park
Today you will take a charter flight to Kasane. On arrival you will be transferred by road to Elephant Valley Lodge where you will spend two nights with all meals included and with daily game activities. (Drinks are not included).

Elephant Valley Lodge lies between the Chobe National Park in Botswana and the equally impressive Matetsi wildlife conservancy. The camp comprises 20 ‘Meru’ style luxury safari tents and overlooks an extremely productive water hole.
Activities include daily safaris and boat cruises into the Chobe National Park. The unique lodge location provides guests with game viewing opportunities throughout the day and night. The Chobe National Park is home to the largest population of wild Elephant, it is estimated to number in excess of 80,000.
Stay 2 nights: Elephant Valley Lodge, Chobe, Botswana

Day 10: Elephant Valley Lodge – Chobe National Park
Enjoy dawn and afternoon/evening safaris in open vehicles in both the Chobe and Kasane forest reserve. Within the Chobe National Park is the Chobe River system forming a series of lakes, islands and floodplains and is famous for its large buffalo and elephant herds. In addition to a variety of predators, there is an abundance of wild game and bird life, which decorate these beautiful waterways.

Day 10: Chobe National Park – Depart Botswana
Make the most of your last morning as you take in all the sights and sounds on your final game activity of this trip before heading to Kasane for your homebound journey. You will then transfer by road to Kasane and connect with your flight to Johannesburg, and from there you will connect with your South African Airways flight back to the USA.
