VIEW ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Sydney

Your holiday begins in the stunning city of Sydney with a sightseeing tour. This evening, enjoy uninterrupted 360° city views and delicious cuisine as you head to Sydney Tower for a Welcome Dinner. Stay: Sydney, PARKROYAL Darling Harbour;  Dinner included.

Day 2: Sydney, Port Macquarie

Today, drive across famous Sydney Harbour Bridge to the charming town of Port Macquarie. Spend some time at your own leisure, and perhaps explore the local art galleries and museums, or take a walk along one of many beaches.  Stay: Rydges Port Macquarie; Breakfast included.

Day 3: Port Macquarie, Byron Bay, Gold Coast

Known for its surf beaches and relaxed atmosphere, Byron Bay is a picturesque coastal destination. Pass by Cape Byron before journeying north to the Gold Coast. Perhaps stroll along the golden sands of Surfers Paradise Beach, or take a glow-worm tour (own expenseˆ).

Day 4: Gold Coast, Brisbane, Australia Zoo, Fraser Island

Depart the Gold Coast via Brisbane. Continue to the Sunshine Coast to visit Australia Zoo, made famous by the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. Later today, travel north to World Heritage-listed Fraser Island and settle in to your room at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Stay: Two Nights: Fraser Island, Kingfisher Bay Resort. Daily Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner included.

 

Day 5: Fraser Island

Over thousands of years, sand has drifted from the east coast of mainland Australia to create the largest sand island in the world, Fraser Island. With an area of 184,000 hectares, it represents extraordinary natural diversity. Striking sand cliffs, hundreds of freshwater lakes and ancient rainforests are framed by stunning white beaches. Today, you’ll discover this beautiful island with a half-day guided tour and some time to spend at leisure in the afternoon. Perhaps visit the historic wreck of the Maheno, a Trans-Tasman liner that was driven ashore during a cyclone in 1935, or make the most of the island’s many walking tracks. Alternatively, simply relax on a peaceful stretch of white sand with a good book. Breakfast included.

 

Day 6: Fraser Island, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton

This morning, enjoy a ferry crossing to picturesque Hervey Bay while keeping an eye out for marine life. Return to the mainland, where you’ll rejoin your coach for the journey north. Travel through sugar cane country, crossing some of the many narrow gauge railway lines that transport sugar cane from the field to processing plants in town, one of rural Queensland’s iconic sights. Later, arrive in the inland city of Rockhampton, known as the beef capital of Australia, farming more than 2.5 million head of cattle within a 250-kilometre radius of the city. Wide streets and fine Victorian architecture reflect the region’s wealthy 19th-century gold and copper mining boom, as well as the successful cattle industry. Stay: Rockhampton, Central Park Motel; Breakfast & dinner included.

 

Day 7: Rockhampton, Daydream Island

The gateway to both the coast and the Outback, the city of Rockhampton also boasts some of the best provincial gardens in Australia. Enjoy a tour of these beautiful gardens before travelling to Airlie Beach to board a ferry for your journey through the Whitsunday Islands for a stay at the picturesque resort of Daydream Island. Stay: Two Nights: Daydream Island Resort and Spa;  Breakfast & Dinner included.

Day 8: Daydream Island

Today is yours to spend at leisure on spectacular Daydream Island. Perhaps snorkel off the beach and discover the region’s many species of tropical fish; stroll through the rainforest; or simply take the time to relax by one of your resort’s swimming pools.  Breakfast included.

Day 9: Daydream Island, Townsville, Mission Beach

Transfer from Daydream Island to Port of Airlie and re-board your coach and travel to Townsville. On arrival, enjoy a tour of this tropical city, surrounded by rainforest and the world-famous Great Barrier Reef. Depart Townsville for Mission Beach, a haven for rest and relaxation.

Day 10:  Mission Beach, Atherton Tablelands, Cairns

Rolling green hills, open farmland and tropical rainforest characterize the Atherton Tablelands, which form part of the Great Dividing Range. Surrounded by tranquil rainforest, experience the peaceful oasis of Millaa Millaa Falls. You’ll also visit the Curtain Fig Tree, a unique example of nature’s unpredictability and wonder. Later, at the scenic village of Kuranda, you’ll board the Kuranda Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Take in the tropical region surrounding Cairns with the Coral Sea in the distance, as you ride above the treetops to Caravonica Lakes. Later, arrive in Cairns and enjoy views of the harbor and lush mountains from your spacious room at the Pullman Cairns International.

Day 11: Great Barrier Reef

Cruise from Cairns by catamaran to Reef Magic’s exclusive activity platform and enjoy hours amid the colorful coral and marine life. Snorkel in the sheltered coral lagoon; walk through the underwater observatory; join a tour on the semi-submersible or glass-bottomed boat; or simply take the time to relax on deck. Enjoy a special Farewell Dinner at Tjapukai by Night this evening. Discover stories of the Dreamtime and take an interactive part in a corroboree.

Day 12: Port Douglas, Depart Cairns

Enjoy a drive north along beautiful coastline to the relaxed holiday township of Port Douglas for a tour. Return to Cairns, where your journey concludes at the airport.  Breakfast included
