VIEW ITINERARY

Day One – San José Arrival

Meet and Greet at San José International Airport. After you have picked up your luggage and clear customs you will be transferred to your San José Hotel. Tour Guide will review the itinerary and answers any questions or concerns regarding your trip.

Day Two – Transfer to Arenal, Arenal Volcano Hike and the Springs Tour

From San Jose the journey north to Arenal begins, stopping in the famous artisan town of Sarchi. The tour continues through plantations for agricultural products, ornamental plants and cattle ranches until arrival in La Fortuna, for lunch with a view of the volcano. Later, relax in one of the area’s top hot springs or enjoy an optional spa treatment. The night finishes at dinner with a view of the volcano, followed by hotel check-in.

Day Three – Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge

The Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge is a humid area considered to be one of the richest in biological diversity in Costa Rica. Here one finds a great variety of resident and migratory birds plus three different species of monkeys, iguanas, sloths, turtles and caymans. The adventure begins at Los Chiles village, only 4 kms from the Nicaraguan border with a four-hour floating safari through tropical rain forest and pastures.

Day Four – Transfer to Monteverde

A beautiful ride of approximately 3 hours to Monteverde provides breathtaking views of the northern plains of Costa Rica while your guide shares the importance of each habitat and the history of each town. After check-in, enjoy the area or take an optional tour, such as Canopy Tour, Sky Walk and Sky Trek, Frog Pond or Butterfly Farm.

Day Five – Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve Tour

Experience an expertly guided tour of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, which spans over 25,730 acres. More than 500 species of orchids cling to the limbs of enormous trees, while vines, ferns, mosses and lichens fill every other available space. The Cloud Forest is home to more than 130 species of mammals,400 species of birds, including the beautiful quetzal, 30 species of hummingbirds, 5000 species of moths and 3000 species of plants. A nature lover’s paradise! Afterwards, enjoy lunch and the rest of the afternoon at leisure to relax and experience nature at its best. Optional Tours available: Sky Walk, Canopy Tour, Frog Pond and Butterfly Garden.

Day Six – Transfer to Guanacaste

After breakfast it is time to travel on to Guanacaste, famous for its beaches and also home of the Dry Tropical Forest. This trip will take approximately 3 hours, with amazing views and many local towns in passing.
