National Geographic Unveils Unique Hotel Collection

Today the National Geographic Society announced its newest venture in world-class travel experiences; National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World. The group of hotels is “a collection of boutique hotels in extraordinary places around the world with a demonstrated commitment to sustainability, authenticity and excellence”, as described by National Geographic. The initial collection consists of 24 lodges, spread over six continents.

The lodges range from luxury tents overlooking Uluru to thatched bungalows in Costa Rica. Most have developed their own renewable energy solutions, and all properties highlight locally sourced food and provide social and economic benefits to the local communities.
