VIEW ITINERARY

Day 1: Depart Sydney – Canberra
Depart Sydney this morning for your journey to the nation’s capital via the Southern Highlands with a stop at historic Berrima. Visit Gold Creek Station, a working sheep farm, for a taste of country life from a local expert including a welcome reception and an Aussie barbecue lunch.

On arrival in Canberra, you’ll walk through impressive Parliament House with a local guide and visit the Australian War Memorial before enjoying dinner with your Tour Director and travelling companions. Lunch and dinner are included.

Day 2: Canberra – Beechworth
Before departing Canberra, you’ll visit the summit of Mt. Ainslie in Canberra Nature Park to take in views of this unique city and surrounding ranges. Journey over the mighty Murray River into Victoria taking the scenic route to historic Beechworth, Victoria’s best preserved gold rush town for your unique overnight stay in one of the Bed and Breakfast properties. The region offers plenty of great photo opportunities, with towering winter snow-capped mountains, tree-covered ranges, magical lakes, wild rivers and tranquil rural farmlands. Get to know Beechworth with an orientation and enjoy some free time to explore the legendary Beechworth Bakery as well as antique shops, galleries and the museum. Breakfast is included.

Day 3: Beechworth – Melbourne
Travel through Glenrowan and Ned Kelly country to culturally diverse and cosmopolitan Melbourne for a sightseeing tour including a private walk through Melbourne’s famous hidden laneways. You’ll discover the city’s eclectic little lanes, arcades, café society and interesting shops.
This evening perhaps take a relaxing walk to Southbank for a stroll along the Yarra River. Breakfast is included.
Stay Two Nights: Crowne Plaza, Melbourne

Day 4: Melbourne at Leisure
Today Melbourne is all yours to explore! You’ll have time to discover some of the secrets of this exceptional city – with plenty of cafés, galleries, museums, markets, restaurants, laneways and parks to choose from. If you wish to explore further, you can join a day tour to the famous Penguin Parade on Phillip Island. Or, visit the Yarra Valley wineries, the Dandenongs and Puffing Billy Steam Train or Sovereign Hill’s goldmine. Breakfast included.

Day 5: Melbourne – Warrnambool
Hold onto your seats today for one of the world’s great road trips – the Great Ocean Road! You’ll get plenty of photo opportunities along this coastal road. Stop in the coastal towns of Lorne and Apollo Bay before you visit the amazing Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge. We finish the day in Warrnambool. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 6: Warrnambool – Adelaide
This morning visit Worn Gundidj at Tower Hill State Reserve. The area was a rich food source for the Koroit Gundidj people whose descendants retain links with this country. Your guide will provide you with an Aboriginal perspective about flora, wildlife, volcanic formations and medicinal practices. Continue to Mt. Gambier to visit the mysterious Blue Lake and then travel on to Adelaide, the gorgeous capital of South Australia. Breakfast and dinner included.
Stay two nights: Stamford Plaza, Adelaide

Day 7: The Barossa
This highlight day starts with a sightseeing tour of Adelaide city, before journeying north for a visit to Australia’s best-known wine-producing region, the Barossa. You’ll drive through quaint villages on your way to Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop, where you’ll have the chance to purchase some gourmet delights (seasonal). Now it’s time for a ‘boutique tasting’ lunch at the South Australian Company Store. At the Company Kitchen you’ll enjoy a scrumptious meal, including a tasting plate, and wine tastings from two boutique wineries. Later, visit Jacob’s Creek winery to try some of their famous wines before returning to Adelaide. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 8: Adelaide – Kangaroo Island
Spend some time relaxing or exploring this friendly city before you visit seaside Glenelg. Then continue to Cape Jervis to board your ferry to Kangaroo Island. Breakfast included.
Stay two nights: Aurora Ozone Hotel, Kangaroo Island

Day 9: Kangaroo Island
Today you’ll explore Kangaroo Island! Head to Flinders Chase National Park for some great photo opportunities at the Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch. You’ll also have the chance to spot koalas, wallabies and kangaroos.

‘You’re invited’ to Andermel Marron Farm for a food and wine experience that captures what makes Kangaroo Island so special. Andermel will host you with a visit to the Marron (freshwater crayfish) ponds and tanks. Taste some of their own ‘Two Wheeler Creek’ wine and farm-produced bush tucker before sampling the Marron with lunch. Later, join a guided tour at the Seal Bay Conservation Park and walk among a breeding colony of Australian sea lions as they doze in the sun.

Celebrate your trip this evening at a farewell dinner with your Tour Director and new-found friends Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 10: Adelaide – Tour ends
Cruise by ferry back to Cape Jervis then on to Adelaide to join a food expert for a guided tour of the 140 year old Adelaide Central Market. Enjoy the hustle and bustle, sample the culinary delights, meet the traders and share the history and secrets of the Market. Later, you’ll be transferred to Adelaide Airport for your onward flight.Breakfast included.
